My first real attempt at a matte painting.
Used only personal stock taken on my recent ski trip and abit of Vue for this.
The Planet was prerendered a few weeks ago waiting for a good scene.

I was really stuck with the sky and lighting part so my matey :iconbaro: added his magic touch and turned this into a epicly lit night scene.

I have to say, this is absolutely lovely. I adore the celestial feel of it so much, and the ice peaks are a great touch, as was the blurred horizon. The planet is just amazing. I love the idea.

Amazing! All your works are incredible. By the way name of the art "Pietus" in linthuanian means south. You know where warm, sea, all year long sun and fun. :)
