An arid landscape where no water flows, and no plant grows. During the day the temperature rises to over 90C degrees, at night it can sink to -40C.
This planet is a sharp contrast to its sister visible in the sky, a planet full of jungles, rainforests and oceans.

Ok now a few comments about this piece. Realism, none. u wil nowhere find planets these close to each other except if theyre about to collide, but i like these kinds of scenes wich kick realism out the window.
This piece was made for terraspace competition, he supplied the terrain, i made the rest.
Personally i love how this one turned out, hope you like it too.

Nice stuff... the more "planet designers" the merrier... love it :salute:

nice use of color contrast, like the sharpness and luminosity of the planetary elements... perfect for conveying the daytime (morning/evening) space scape. the atmospheric haze does sort of give the impression of a world so hot and arid that whatever atmospheric moisture you might find in the clouds would not quite make it to the ground (as rain) before evaporating...

i also wanted to think you for your statement about realism in space art... i've had a tendancy to favor realism over dynamism, but it is a lot more fun to put planets in dramatic juxtaposition!

good luck in the contest!
